We wake up one morning and the fridge is about 60 degrees and the freezer is still cold. I've defrosted it multiple times. There is always a puddle on the floor after the defrost so something was clogged somewhere. This has now become a monthly occurrence. Any ideas on how I can troubleshoot this? Can I flush the line with hot water? Replace the fan? From what I could find based on the serial number that starts "K Years ago I replaced the condensation tube with the P-trap replacement part issued from Whirlpool.
This issue is fairly recent so it seems they are not connected. September 15, If it's not defrosting then there will be a problem with the defrost system. Heater, bimetal, controls, wires or sensor. It has come to a point where I would never go to a jazz board controlled fridge repair without taking a jazz board and a new p-trap with me. It's gonna be one of the two. Manual has not been approved by Samurai as of yet, going to play it as it comes with what I was able to find out here. This would have saved at least one person I know from spending a lot of time in the wee hours of the morning futilely searching for info.
Typos are one thing, we all do that from time to time, but you are an excellent tech and because of your experience this is verging on negligence. However, after having my morning coffee along with two decadent, warmed and butter drenched Krispy Kreme doughnuts, I decided not to post the above and simply ask whether you need further help?
Thought I could save some spoiled food by at least defrosting with a steamer. Good customer service I would say. By the way I had FF temp down to 40 this morning. For a better experience, please enable JavaScript in your browser before proceeding.

The other weekend I found my fridge warm and my freezer still cold. I ended up taking apart my freezer and found ice build up around my coils.
After melting the ice off and putting everything back together I looked online and found a way to turn on my defrost manually to test the circuit board. I did this, the defrost turned on and I left on vacation So I assume the issue is indeed the board? When I came back 4 days later again there was a build up of ice.
I've now ordered a new circuit board but it won't get here for a week or so. My problem is I don't want to turn off the fridge for a whole week so I figured it'd melt the ice around the coils again and just manually turn on the defrost cycle every so often. My problem is I cannot find how to turn on the defrost cycle anymore and I'm also wondering how often I should turn it on. I've seen some literature saying the defrost cycle turns on minimum 8 hours of compressor use, but I also don't know how long those kick on per hour.
So I wanna know if you agree with the circuit board going bad? How do I turn the defrost cycle on? No, the thermostat requires colder temperatures to close; test it in a working freezer. I eventually swapped the control board after seeing a professional tech on YouTube do the same after only seeing the onboard diagnostics pass. And of course the problem only occurred when the freezer frosted over, so every time I'd manually defrost the freezer, everything seemed fine for a couple of weeks.
I became very experienced at taking the freezer apart. I did some research on the fridge not getting cold but freezer ok. I found a very helpful post that explained how to put the fridge into diagnostic mode and how to run some of the diagnostic tests with the buttons on the fridge display. I determined that the control board was my problem after running several of the self tests. The control board was not allowing the defrost cycle to run properly and it was keeping the compressor on constantly which was freezing the water on the fins and blocking the airflow from the freezer to the fridge.
Google and YouTube search pointed to the problem the fan was ok so I replaced the electronic control board. Freezer cold frig warm Replaced circuit board which solved the problem.
