Personally I'd say that I'd rather have a good comfortable goggle that I can see out of and stay in line with the buoys and possibly lose a couple of mili-seconds on the swim, than a goggle that leaks or is uncomfortable and causes me to stop or swim off course because I can't see. So regardless of what perception is of the size, function over form is surely a bigger goal here.

That being said, one model might fit you better than another. So please do try them all on and see what feels best for you. The harder frame shouldn't be an issue with a blow to the face.
