Tried uninstall and reinstall of flash but no change. Did a clean install of and presto The same Firefox developers edition and flash version works as before. I suspect an update in broke it and the clean install has not applied it yet. As an aside, if you search for playing flash without flash player there are a couple of direct firefox addons that worked for me until the clean install.

It does work on Internet Explorer. All of these problems come from the fact that Vista and Windows 7 are 64 bit operating systems. Internet Explorer is also 64 bit but Firefox is unfortunately not 64 bit compatible and therefore can only use 32 bit plug-ins. I'm running Vista 64 bit and the current version of Flash Anyway, I have the This problem occurred because I updated Firefox to version 8, after which Flash was still working with the old version installed.
After updating Flash, I could no longer get sound from any online videos. So I uninstalled, found a Not to be. Now I can't get it to work at all. And to tell you the truth I like the old interface of Firefox 7 much better anyway. Also having a similar experience today.
No problems at all before this, but now I get told that I need to install the latest Flash player, which I do, and it seems to work and fully install without any issues.
